Why OKCannabis.org Exists
Oklahoma has one of the most unusual cannabis programs in the country. State Question 788 created a medical-only system with no qualifying conditions, no license caps (until 2022), and some of the most permissive patient and business rules anywhere in the nation. The result: over 315,000 active patients (roughly 8% of the population), more than 1,400 dispensaries, and a regulatory landscape that has undergone dramatic changes since the program launched in 2018.
The program is administered by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA), but finding reliable, comprehensive, and non-commercial information about Oklahoma cannabis law, the patient card process, dispensaries, business licensing, and the program's complex history in one place has never been easy.
OKCannabis.org fills that gap. We're a free educational resource that brings together everything you need to know about medical cannabis in Oklahoma — from current laws and patient resources to dispensary locations and community organizations.
